Proteo 20 Open is one of the many boats built by the yard Onda Blu. First presented at the recent Genoa Boat Show, this boat features a simple design of the hull, with few frills and much substance. The designers concentrated their attention not so much on the aesthetics as on the overall functionality, thus producing a boat that will be certainly appreciated by the fishermen for she meets their need of space, stability at sea, strength, etc. Moreover, she has two helm stations, i.e. a steering wheel amidships on the dashboard and a steering tiller aft which is particularly useful when fishing on one's own.

As far as speed is concerned, Proteo 20 Open gave satisfactory results. Unfortunately, during sea trials the fitted propeller probably had inadequate blade pitch because the engine recorded 400 extra rpm at top rotating speed. Thus meaning that with the correct propeller and with a broken-in engine, the hull is capable of increasing its performing speed by a few knots. Forward there is a small traditional double vee-berth cabin; a chemical or marine- type toilet may be installed on request. Aft there is a very comfortable swimming platform with a stainless steel swimming ladder and a support for the auxiliary outboard engine.
