LA NUOVA MECCANICA NAVALE Superyacht Refit
La Nuova Meccanica Navale is a group with more than
50 years of experience in industrial and naval
repair, conversion and maintenance. The know-how
acquired continually since 1948 has equipped the
company to collaborate with prestigious customers
such as the U.S. Navy's Sixth Fleet and MSC, the
second-largest naval company in the world. Today, on
the basis of this experience and know-how, and of
investments in new technology and systems, the
Italian company has set up a Superyacht Refit
Division which offers a range of services
specifically tailored to large boats.
The Superyacht Refit Division, officially presented
at the 13th Monaco Yacht Show (2003), operates on
30,000 sq.m. in the eastern area of the Port of
Naples and includes two travel lifts (160,000 kg and
500,000 kg), 16 slings (the sizes of which can be
widely modified to lift superyachts), and a launching
and towing quay (55-m long, 15-m wide and 4.50-m
deep). Modern technology, combined with highly
qualified human resources, has enabled La Nuova
Meccanica Navale to offer complete services for the
refitting of superyachts (both motorised and sail
rigged), even those exceeding 70 m in length. The
company's quality is guaranteed by ISO 9002 and SRU
(Ship Repair Unit - US Navy) certification.
The Superyacht Refit Division thus operates in all areas
of refitting, from onboard systems to exteriors to
construction materials. Its new technological
equipment has made it possible for the Naples company
to work on and modify electrical and electronic
installations, refrigeration and air-conditioning
units and hydraulic and mechanical systems. As far as
mechanics are concerned, this company is able to
carry out re-motorization and the replacement of
propulsion systems, to install bow thrusters,
stabilisers and trim systems. When it comes to
superyacht exteriors, it offers painting and
carpentry services, installs teak decks and repairs
parts made of fibreglass, composite, steel, aluminium
and wood. Its services also cover the refitting of
interiors, including restructuring and complete personalization.
