There are many kinds of pleasure craft, from those dedicated to fans of canvas to those preferred by lovers of comfort and the performance of a typical motorised yacht. But there is one category that is able to satisfy the needs of both groups of users: the motor-sailer. This is a yacht where the engines are just as important as the sails, guaranteeing good performance whether it is the imposing inboard engine or the wind that powers the boat. In this direction the Pendennis Shipyard has developed a luxurious 47.50 metre super- yacht equipped with a pair of MAN engines giving a total of 3,500 HP, a Hood telescopic mast in carbon and Marten boom onto which a Doyle Oceanwave sail can be hoisted. The motor-sailer we are describing is "MITseaAH", designed and built to guarantee maximum comfort during sailing. Hull and upperworks are in Alustar, meaning lower weights with the same mechanical resistance of other materials and subsequent advantages in terms of performance and consumption. Furthermore, to make the crew's job easier, all rigging is assisted by Lewmar electric-hydraulic winches. The two mobile keels and the fractioned mast with adjustable-height masthead on the "MITseaAH", mean it can sail through difficult passages where reduced draught or mast height is called for. The good overall length / beam ratio means plenty of space inside for roomy, comfortable environments. Amidships "MITseaAH" offers a section dedicated entirely to the relaxation saloon and dining area, while to stern and in the bows, there is accommodation for the owner and his guests and quarters for a crew of 8. Furnishings are dignified in style, with fabrics, leather and wood giving an overall classic rather than modern look.
