The German Farmont yard has entrusted the design of a 38' overall length ocean-going wherry to the famous Dutch Naval architect René Van Der Velden. The ship with a typical expedition yacht design promises to provide a cruising range of 6.000 miles at a max speed of 14 knots thanks to a pairing of 600hp 3406 Caterpillars.

The hull at present under construction is in composite, epoxy and ATC-Core Cell; interior can be fully customized at owner's request: he will first choose one of the two different versions available and developed to fully suit to the weight and areas layout worked out by in - house engineers in conjunction with the Architect René Van Der Velden.

The unit at the moment under construction features interior realized according to classic styling and consisting of six cabins for a total of 12 people, including the crew's quarter. One of the most important features of these vessels is full ease of handling also by a small crew making her a very interesting proposal to owners who want also to use them for chartering.

As already said, the Farmont FY38 Metre recalls aesthetically the classic lines of expedition yachts featuring a very high stem on the water and impressive bulwarks with round shapes either in superstructures or in all the features that have an aesthetic effect on the layout. Adequately to yachts of this type the open areas are giant, mostly on the main deck on which forward there is stowage for a RIB tender made either for reaching stretches of coast otherwise unreachable, or, for instance, for sub - or other sports activities.
