Along the coastline that historically represents one of the origins of the Italian navy, Campania, a new marina is about to be developed, at Castellammare di Stabia to be exact. One thing that makes this port particularly attractive to super-yachts is that it can hold ships up to 80 metres long, always guaranteeing a depth no less than 5 metres. Furthermore, given the strategic location of the marina, just 25 miles from Naples, it is also suitable for permanent moorings. Basically, the proximity of the international airport in Naples, together with the railway station and motorway connections, make the new marina in Campania extremely attractive for those wishing to make use of it, even if only in transit. It is strategically located for those crossing the Straits of Messina and heading northwards or vice versa, or those wishing to visit the splendid islands in Campania such as Capri, Procida and Ischia. Greatly pushed for by the local administration, the marina at Castellamare di Stabia represents not only the creation of a new point of reference for sailors, but also an enormous opportunity to develop the surrounding area, which, while having always existed exclusively for maritime purposes, had never been properly exploited. Nowadays, thanks to this new development, those who make use of the more than 1,400 moorings in water covering an area of 350,000mư, can count on shore structures capable of dealing with any kind of technical or administrative problem, large spaces for dry land work and equipment which satisfy the needs of any kind of boat. The natural surroundings and town planning where this new marina in Campania has been developed, guarantees a pleasant stay with everything at one's disposal, including the proverbial local hospitality and the skills that cover everything strictly related to activities at sea. The marina at Castellammare di Stabia is considered one of the most important in the whole Mediterranean; this is due both to the size and technological solutions adopted to ensure the recycling of water and safe berthing. Security services will be operational inside the marina and a watch tower with 24h/7d staff, a sailing school, heliport, ramps, yachting club and bunkering. At the back of the port there will be hotels, restaurants, cinemas, business centres and beauty and sports centres. All this will be ready before the next summer as the work is almost 90% complete.
