VAN DAM 100' NORDIA Traditional Psyrax
The Dutch shipyard, Van Dam Nordia Shipyard, founded in 1881 and
since then specialising in the construction of elegant, classic
yachts between 15 and 27 metres, has now developed a yacht of
more than 31 metres, fully customisable, to meet the needs of
every customer. In fact, this shipyard can create made to measure
interiors, starting from the standard hull of this model, but it
is also capable of modifying the technical characteristics to
offer the fussier client an even greater range of customised options.
This boat has been designed for use in serious cruising, and for
this reason, fully fitted with state of the art deck equipment and
electronic instruments, so as to aid navigation even with a
reduced crew. To this, luxurious and comfortable interior
furnishings are added.
Designed by Robert van Dam, this 100' has a Pilot House deck
layout with a large, protective central wheelhouse, and a powerful
sloop fitting out with mast and boom in carbon. The manoeuvres are
all sent back to the single cockpit where we can find, not only
the wheelhouse, but also two identical dinettes with seating
carved out of the moulded body and tables. The area is protected
by a removable Bimini top. The deck fitted bulb keel offers
excellent performance and comfort during navigation no matter the
weather conditions. The interiors are a mix between classic and
modern. The design is a fusion of the atmosphere in a Gentlemen's
Club provided by the panelling in mahogany, and the spaciousness
and brightness typical of modern yachts thanks to certain design
choices and particular elements of the furniture, like the white
leather on the seats and the clear covering on the ceiling. The
sophisticated Pilot House, as well as the technological cockpit,
has a double dinette finished in blue leather, an open plan area
that connects in continuous flow to the lower bridge via a wide
stairway and in line with the rest of the furnishings. This
option favours the natural illumination of the lower bridge,
thanks to the natural light coming through the large windows that
surround the wheelhouse. The layout of this bridge foresees a
large room at the centre of the boat, divided into dining area at
starboard and lounge for relaxing in at port. This area has a
delightful fireplace, flat screen TV and an air temperature
controlled cellar.
Heading towards bow, one comes to a corridor that also acts as a
large, well equipped galley. There is an entrance to a double
cabin with bathroom and the entrance to the crew's quarters, with
dining area and a cabin with bunk beds and en suite bathroom.
From the wardroom, heading towards stern, one can access a guest
cabin with twin beds and en suite bathroom, or a long corridor
with another cabin fitted with bunk beds, interconnecting with the
owner's suite.
The latter has a central double bed, multimedia unit, comfortable
corner sofa with table, dressing table and large bathroom with
shower cabinet.
