TAURO, THE TOW-LINE WINCH BY QUICK
The Quick Company has been on the market since 1922. It is
currently producing instruments and accessories for leisure
boats from its premises of 20,000 square metres situated in the
area adjacent to the city of Ravenna. In particular it deals
with electric, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
The Company, which is known on the market for its speed and
efficiency of service and innovative products, boasts its "just-
in-time" production system and a scrupulous quality control; so
much so that, any product off the 'line' is duly certified as
conforming to regulations in force in the country where it is
sold. Ever improving production processes and item quality are
certainly amongst the Company's targets thereby successfully
managing to offer the market advanced products. To this end,
Quick has absorbed a mechanical engineering company called CATT,
into its structure. For the last 25 years, CATT has been
producing moulds for plastic materials and for mechanical in
series production, and they are able to offer a Cad-Cam
designing service which will guarantee the quality of the
finished product. Making full use of CATT's collaboration, and
therefore of a state of the art technically advanced machine
pool, Quick manages to have total control over product quality,
to reduce production time, to offer the possibility to
personalize the accessories according to one's particular needs,
and finally, designing and directly making the prototypes, it
can rapidly react to market requirements. One of the products
found amongst those made by Quick for boats over 24 m, is TAURO
the tow-line winch of 1000, 1400, 1700, 2000, 2300 and 3000
Watts. It has an anodized aluminium base and a chromium-plated
bronze bell housing, fitted with a watertight motor of IP67
grade, 3000 Watt model excepted, and it enjoys a sober and
pleasant design. The winch may be combined with a remote control
and to this end, Quick has recently developed a watertight
multifunction key pad especially made for some on board
accessories. It is known as HRC, a patented apparatus developed
to command a number of mobile systems from a given distance such
as, small cranes, gangplanks, windlasses, and winches in
general. The key pad is made of durable rubber inserts to ensure
resistance to impact and a sure grip, it comprises an extendible
cable up to 4,2 metres in order to leave a wide spectrum of use,
and in a special version, it also includes a Led torch which
will facilitate warping operations even in poor light
conditions. Amongst other aspects, HRC is available in 2, 4, 6,
or 8, key versions in order to allow more functions to be added
to a single instrument.
