The Pisa Shipyards have just recently launched their latest example of the Akhir models, a motor yacht produced by the Tuscany based shipyard of some 145' whose general lines maintain their familiar looks. The design therefore presents a clear-cut if not rigorous looking superstructure sporting what has become the trade mark of the Pisa Shipyards: an extensive dark tinted glass panelling running along the sides to contrast the glimmering white fibreglass. The stamp of tradition is easily recognizable in the luxurious interiors furnished in a contemporary style and the brightness given by the large glass panelling and shear volume of space contribute to offering a general idea of relaxing comfort. This is particularly enhanced by the special care the shipyard has placed in developing soundproofing ideas. The latest Akhir arrival happens to also be the largest, as it spreads over three decks plus a Sun Deck choosing the lower deck as the guests and crew quarters. The guests have five cabins at their disposal of which one is a double suite extending across the full beam of the ship, two twin bedded cabins and another two double cabins lying further a-stern. Each cabin has its private bathroom comprising shower cabin, basin, bidet and wc. The crew's quarters are in the bow and are made up of four cabins with bunk beds for a total of eight births. Staying on this particular deck, one will notice that the Akhir 145 hosts on its stern a small hanger structure housing a tender of generous proportions. The owner's suite sized cabin is forward ship in the main deck and it comprises a double bed placed centrally, a sitting area, vanity, changing room, walk-in-wardrobe, double bathroom and an office. Moving on towards the stern one finds a large galley which is well separated from the adjacent common parts comprising a well equipped area, a central workbench and a dining table for the crew. Further a-stern one will find a spacious common area hosting the dining area, a saloon with three sofas and a table, and a further seating area with low armchairs and tables to relax in. The exterior part of this deck offers an open air dining area in the cockpit, large enough to hold impromptu cocktail parties and a divan area facing the bow to sun bathe. The upper deck hosts the bridge and controls in the bow area, extending over the full beam across the ship and communicating with the captain's double cabin, whereas the remaining stern area offers another saloon with seats and tables. The external extension of this deck enjoys all round seating shaded by the sun deck which is ideal for conversation and the full enjoyment of the cruise. The last deck up, is entirely dedicated to out door activities and is therefore equipped with a divan cornicing a dining table and widespread cushioned seats to soak up the sun. The engines are 2 X 3700 HP MTU taking this super yacht to a maximum speed of 28 knots as by the shipyard's indications.
