with the "Best Sailing Yacht Over 40 metres" prize at the Monaco
Boat Show. This is a sought after accolade to be given to a boat

THE SECOND CANADOS 110' HAS BEEN LAUNCHED
Canados shipyards has recently launched its second version of the
new 110' footer line, an elegant long range cruiser of 33 metres
characterized by the quality of its construction and standards of
finish we have learned to recognize as the meticulous work of the
Canados craftsmen. The new 110', equipped with a planing fibre-
glass hull, offers a different lay-out compared to the first one
out. It was thought out by the styling department and technical
staff to satisfy the owner's different requirements. The external
lines, largely unchanged, are undoubtedly Canados with their
extensive glass panelling enhancing the brightness of the
interiors. The yacht is geared for long non-stop voyages and is
hence equipped with all on board comforts and two 2,450 HP MTUs,
with a V-Drive inverter, which propel it to a cruising speed of 25
knots, with a range of 500 nautical miles. For further information

CCYD: SAIL TECHNOLOGY GROUP
CCYD, is a historical shipyard specialised in building super
sailing yachts which can boast numerous international prizes.
Among the many we'd like to recall, for one, when the 120' "Marina
Uno" was launched at the end of the '80s.The shipyard's success in
meeting its objectives and development programme is largely due to
the continuity of the business founded by Giancarlo Padoan and
managed later by his family. Speaking of the founder we'd like to
remember that among the many inventions of which he was certainly
the forefather, there is also the watercraft which he had created
as a result of personal research in times which can't be subject
to suspicion. We may, naturally, consider that project as a means
of broadening his horizons away from his main interest which was,
nonetheless, always addressed to large sailing vessels. One of the
elements that CCYD has always been proud of is that of having
forged the best of Italian tradition and advanced technology into
building reliable yachts. CCYD has now become the primary company
of a group which also encompasses ML Boatworks, headed by Marco
Landi, responsible for "Brasil 1's" third place in the Volvo Ocean
Race with Torben Grael at the helm. Trintella Yachts, specialised
in making 40' to 60' ocean sailing cruisers has also become part
of the group. The merger between CCYD specialised in top quality
large custom made yachts, ML Boatworks capable of making
technically advanced boats and Trintella Yachts renown for its
prestigious semi custom made classic or modern boats, witnesses
the creation of a group capable of meeting every type of request
in the super sailing yacht market niche whether these are for
enduring regattas or cruisers. Naturally, the new group can also
meet the most demanding expectations with regard to absolute
quality and technologically advanced projects. CCYD is thus
embarking upon a new season which will not however jeopardize the
philosophy and experience that has enabled it to attain worldwide
esteem. In "Superyachts" next issue we'll be able to continue the
story and look at what the future will have in store for this new
important versatile group which is however homogeneous in its
production philosophy. Further information may be had on its
history and on the projects underway by visiting the following web
site www.ccyd.net.
AMY AT THE MONACO BOAT SHOW
The razzmatazz of the Monaco Yacht Show which is entirely
organized for the benefit of Superyachts is the chosen venue to
present AMY (Admiral Mariotti Yachts) to the general public. The
Company, founded last October for the purpose of building a new
line of steel hulled displacing yachts, is shared with "Cantieri
Navali Lavagna" and "Mariotti" of Genoa and will be marketed with
the "Admiral' brand. AMY's stand will be in the area allocated to
yachts over 50 metres, where the Company will be introducing the
Admiral 54 designed by Luca Dini and currently under construction.
AMY will also be present at the "Festival de la Plaisance de
Cannes" in September as well as attending the International Boat
Show in Genoa in October. For further information please contact:

COUACH LAUNCH TWO NEW SUPERYACHTS
Couach Shipyards have launched two interesting novelties namely,
the 3300 Fly, which is an evolution of the 2800 Open, and the 2100
Open called Pensacola. The former is a typical Fly motor yacht
characterized by ample space below fitted and decorated with
substantial use of block teak and leather panelling. There have
been three orders already for the Fly which thanks to the
combination of inner space and five cabins proves to be ideal for
Charters. The second novelty, the 2100 Open Pensacola, is
characterized by the widespread use of light coloured fine timber
which enhances the brightness of the interiors of this yacht
capable of reaching speeds of over 30 knots thanks to its twin MAN
12V CRM 1.360 HP engines. For further information please contact:

JFA SHIPYARD LAUNCH A 138' ESCORT VESSEL
JFA Shipyards has recently launched a 138 foot Escort Vessel which
began construction in 2004. The yacht was produced in conjunction
with Dick Young Designs and Vripack Yachting International in
accordance with Lloyd's Register and MCA regulations. The Escort
Vessel has a steel made hull and aluminium super structures and
its interiors may host 12 people including the owner as well as a
crew of 11. Despite the fact that Dick Young took inspiration from
the working vessels of the 30s for his design of this motor yacht
of over 42 metres, both interior and exterior spaces compare
favourably to those on any oceanic cruiser. Propelled by twin
Caterpillar engines of 720 HP each, the Escort Vessel reaches a
cruising speed of 13.5 knots allowing it to voyage non-stop for
over 5400 nautical miles. For further information please contact:

A SUPERYACHT OF OVER 130 METRES FOR FINCANTIERI
Fincantieri has won a contract for the construction of a super
yacht of over 130 metres in length, due to be delivered in 2010.
The yacht, which will be developed over seven decks, will be built
to maximum SOLAS class specification, this being the international
safety standards directive for passenger transport in the merchant
navy sector. It will be produced in the Muggiano shipyard in La
Spezia, just where surface ships and submarines are currently
built for the Italian Navy. The design of the yacht has been
entirely developed by the Fincantieri Yachts team, who took
inspiration from an innovative if not revolutionary design by
Espen Oeino carried out on the owner's behalf. The basket full of
novelties will also include a hangar on board and two helipads,
the yacht will also host a submarine, a large sea-water swimming
pool which will be big enough to receive tenders and their like.
Interiors totalling 2700 square metres by Pascale Reymond Langton
Design, will complete the operation. For further information

built by RMK Yachts in Tuzla, Turkey. Redman Whiteley Dixon for
the interiors and Paul Johnson of Marine Design & Consultancy, the
English company that recently contributed to the completion of
Marbella V, both of which were also involved in designing this
unusual ketch offering classical solutions, such as the hull
design which recalls the older Sparkman & Stephens, and totally
avant-garde ones, such as a vast superstructure to include the
pilothouse. The ketch will be 52 metres long by 10.30 metres wide,
displacing about 405 tons with a sail plan of some 999.10 square
metres. For further information please visit our web site:

JONGERT 2700M - SALE NUMBER SIX
Since "Matoka“ma", the first Jongert 2700M to be built, to date,
the semi-custom dutch ship yard has enjoyed considerable success
reaching five contracts completed with the "Vivid", "Sea Rose
Star", Annabelle" and "Ithaca", the last being under construction
together with model number six which has been sold just recently.
Since we are talking about semi-custom yachts, each one stands out
for different reasons, especially the last one sold which is
fitted with a twin wheel and a sliding roof for the deck-house and
sun deck areas. For further information please contact: Jongert

FIRST SEA TRIALS FOR THE MALTESE FALCON
Perini Navi have successfully ended sea trials for the new and by
now famous "Maltese Falcon", the 88 metre yacht with square sails
recently launched by the Turkish shipyard Yildiz Gemi di Tuzla.
The "Maltese Falcon" proved the efficiency of its rigging by
reaching a speed of 10 knots with nearly 16 of wind close-hauling
up to an angle of 38°. Furthermore, as these were the first
serious tests for the "Maltese Falcon", not all sails were
unfurled thus promising even greater performances to those offered
in the Bosphorus, in later trials. For further information please

SUPERYACHT CHINA
Ferretti, Princess, Cavendish White e Plasticel. Per ulteriori
informazioni consultare il sito web www.superyachtchina.com.
A MODERN GENTLEMAN'S YACHT FOR A DUTCH FAMILY
The Vripack Yachting International Naval Architects, have designed
a 127' motor yacht characterized by the presence of large informal
areas as per the owner's request, and by the total absence of the
integrated systems now common to most large yachts. This was the
specific mandate given by the owner who wished for a "loft" like
design for his yacht to include a large galley where to lunch and
dine, and to do without all that technology which could ruin the
pleasures of a more traditional navigation. The new yacht will be
of classical design complete with a "canoe stern", it will be
steel built with aluminium superstructures in accordance with
Lloyd's Register of Shipping Directives. For further information
please contact: www.vripack.com.
NEW FASHION 116 IS LAUNCHED
A new "Fashion 116" was launched on the 18th of July. The new 36
metre super yacht was built by the Egyptian shipyard Shama in
collaboration with the Italian Fashion Yachts Group, well known on
the international market for its 55 and 68 models. The new model
will be available in a Sport and Super sport version which will be
introduced to the public during the "Festival de la Plaisance" in
Cannes. For further information: www.fashionyachtsgroup.it.
INTERVIEW WITH VICTOR CAMINADA
The Marketing Manager of Amels Shipyards Victor Caminada, noted a
few errors in the interview published in the last edition of Super
yacht which we now wish to correct. The presentation of the Amels
212 model will take place during the Monaco Yacht Show, in Monaco
and not in Munich. The shipyards in Holland are not two but one,
the other, in which only the hulls are made, is in Poland.
Caminada, also wishes to point out that Rob Luijendik's exact
title in the company is that of Sales Manager and not "Business
Manager." Our apologies to the shipyard and to our readers for the
incorrect information due mainly to linguistic problems.
TRINITY YACHTS MUSTANG SALLY
Presenting Trinity Yachts Mustang Sally in the Technical
Characteristics section of the last edition of Superyacht, we
referred to the designers responsible for the first layout of the
yacht's interiors instead of naming Patrick Knowles who in fact
designed the final version as shown in the published photographs.
