JFA MOTOR SAILER 90
The French shipyard JFA is building a 90'motor sailor on projects
by the naval architects Joubert-Nivelt-Geoffers and in conjuction
with Dick Young Designs. The ketch rigging comprises two carbon
masts which guarantee good sail performance thanks to the 383sqm.
sail area. Navigation under engine is well supported by twin
Cummins engines of 250 HP each. The standard layout
is fairly conventionally arranged, with all the cabins positioned
along the lower deck. The owner's cabin runs across the full beam
amidships plus three cabins for the guests, two of which have twin
beds and the other a double. The bows hosts the crew's quarters
which in addition of the night cabin provide for a large space
equipped with a professional galley.
Space on the main deck comprises a wheelhouse at the bows forming part of a saloon with sea views, whereas the galley and dining areas are in the stern. The motor sailor's outer spaces are also decked out with relaxation in mind, such as the cockpit area hosting yet another saloon and the flying bridge,as well as the second steering post which is equipped to house a 5.5m tender. Use of the same is made easier by the presence of a purposely fitted hydraulic winch. A peculiarity of this craft undoubtedly rests with the design of its exterior conceived to host a considerable number of glass panels thus favouring both the brightness of the interiors and general views. These are even more accentuated from the wheelhouse and the owner cabin.
